Silver can be found in nature both in its native state and combined with sulphur, arsenic, antimony or chlorine in a variety of minerals (e.g., argentite, Ag2S).
Silver deposits are in Canada, Australia and the United States but the maximum production in the last two centuries was reached in the mine of Guanajuato, Mexico. Since 2006 Peru is the biggest producer of silver in the world with over 111.6 million ounces of silver produced.
Apart from minerals, silver is also obtained from the electrolytic refining of copper. The commercial grade of silver is 99.9% pure. There are degrees of purity up to 99.999%.
In the trade of Silver we supply different products starting from raw granules to finished products like Soft-Annealed sheets or Dog-Bone used for different technical applications in several industries. Herewith you find few examples of products available:

2) Soft-Annealed Silver Sheet
Silver sheets manufactured in fire-free, soft-annealed physical condition and protected from damage by a low-tack plastic laminate coating.
Sheets are produced in 800‰ and 925‰ silver grades as standard dimensions 500mm x 1000mm. Sheets thicknesses from 0,30 to 2,00mm with 0,05mm intervals.
Tolerance on thickness values is +/- 0,02mm.
Standard hardness values for soft-annealed 500 x 1000mm sheets are Ag 800‰ : 83 Hv +/ -5 HvAg 925‰ : 65 Hv +/- 5 Hv.
Thicknesses range available from 2,10mm to 10,00mm with 0,10mm intervals.
Tolerance on thickness values is +/- 0,05mm.360 x 1000mm rough-rolled sheets are manufactured in 800% and 925% sterling Silver grades in soft-annealed physical condition.
Standard hardness values for soft-annealed 360 x 1000mm sheets are as follow:Ag 800‰ : 85 Hv +/- 10 HvAg 925‰ : 75 Hv +/- 10
